Sara Horwath’s erzählender und figürlicher Stil stellt einen Kontrast zur gängigen Kunstrichtung dar. Er ist sogar mehr als das, denn die Bilder bedienen auch Stilelemente der Werbung, Buchillustration & der Burlesque und formen so eine völlig neue Richtung.

Sara Horwath wuchs in einer Künstlerfamilie auf, denn ihre Eltern sind ebenfalls Maler (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luise_Horwath). Bereits mit 15 Jahren war sie Gaststudentin an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin. Arbeiten aus dieser Zeit stellte sie 1993 mit Prof. Ludvig Feller u.a. im Roten Rathaus aus. Seit 1999 arbeitet sie freiberuflich als Illustrationsdesignerin und erhielt im Jahr 2004 ihr Diplom als Designerin (FH) an der FHTW mit Auszeichnung „sehr gut“ als Jahrgangsbeste; Mentor Künstleranatom Prof. Dr. Gottfried Bammes. Im Jahr 2002 begann sie mit den ersten Entwürfen ihrer „burlesquen Illustrationen“, für die sie inzwischen weit über Deutschland hinaus bekannt ist. Für diese Kunstrichtung dienen ihr Persönlichkeiten wie Dita von Teese, Betty Page und auch sie selbst als Modell. Neben ihrer eigenen Kunst fertigt sie weiterhin Illustationen für Verlage und Firmen wie z.B. ZDF newmedia, kadewe, Lafayette, Askania Uhren, mti Industriegase AG, Universität La Sapienza (Rom) u.v.m.

Sara Horwath’s figurative style which is telling stories represents a contrast to the common art direction. He is even more than it because the pictures also uses style elements of the advertising, book illustration & the Burlesque and form a completely new direction.

Sara Horwath was born in Sonneberg, Germany in 1976 and grew up in a artistic family, both her mother and her father also being painters.

At the age of 15 she started attending classes at the University of the Arts Berlin. Since 1999 she has been working as a freelance designer and illustrator.

In 2004 she graduated as a designer (FH) at the FHTW with the grade "sehr gut" ("very good") as the best student in her class.

 In 2002 she began working on her "burlesque illustrations" which are well known far beyond Germany today. For this form of art she painted people like Dita von Teese, Betty Page and herself as well. In 2009 she moved her illustrations into a new direction she calls "modern fairy tales".

In addition to her personal art forms she continued working as a freelance illustrator and designer for publishing houses and companies such as ZDF newmedia, MTI Industrial Gases, kadewe, Lafayette, University La Sapienza (Rome), and others.
